The Why:
Our journey started MANY several frustrating experiences with malfunctioning appliances at home as well as at work…
- Where a mini handheld vacuum exploded when being charged overnight (upon further checking… it wasn’t registered with Singapore’s CPSO authorities, meaning it wasn’t safety-tested) - which highlighted the need for safety-tested, dependable products.
- Also, despite many brands claiming to have a “2-year warranty”... repair or replacement processes were often arduous and painful. We were either always ignored /ghosted by the “customer service”... or told to bring our appliance down to the repair centre, oftentimes to very far-flung areas like Changi or Gambas.
Just imagine this… if the device costs $99, and we have to:
- Bring it down to the service centre to “send it in for diagnosis”
- Go back home
- Go down again to “collect it as repair has been completed”
- Go back home
Wouldn’t we have spent perhaps upwards of $120+ just on Grabcar transport alone? Let alone the time and energy expended, as well as annual leave applied to go to these “service centres” that are always open ONLY during office hours…?

1. Not all factories are made equal.
Partner factories are all either ISO-9001 certified OR have product ranges that are IECEE CB-compliant, leading to superior product quality and better end-user experiences.
Above acronyms aren’t elaborated here as it is easily google-able.
The fact is that not all products go through safety testing as some factories and brands opt to save the costs of extra thousands of dollars.
Apple iPhones and even HexClad cookware endorsed by Gordan Ramsay are made in China.
Long gone are the days that just because it is made in China means that it is low quality.
2. No “B-S” Brand Promise of Warranty & Service
Ultimately, you have to win when buying from Strongcore.
Or you could easily try buying it from taobao or aliexpress.
Though, some issues with taobao or aliexpress (in our own experience as customers) might be:
- No returns (not easily anyway)
- After-sales warranty support is super hard to reach
- No direct support for spare parts
- Can’t buy from Alibaba.com as there’s 500 pcs MOQ
- Have to figure out how to freight it into Singapore sometimes
- Quality of the factory/overseas seller is not verified, sometimes get rubbish product
- Long shipping times.
